About Us
The Fiquetex Story
The question of sustainability and how we can build a more prosperous world for future generations is one of the biggest challenges facing modern businesses - and Fiquetex is part of the solution. We wanted to do our part and create renewable fabrics that are affordable, high quality and environmentally friendly for industry use worldwide.
When walking through the hills of Medellin, father and son Alex and Gabriel Moreno realised the potential of the fique plant. They noticed that too much of the plant was being wasted, which prompted years of study and design to bring you Fiquetex.
Our Founders
Alex Moreno is a textile engineer with over 30 years experience working in the industry. He is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and has worked on 6 patents of innovation to his name.
Gabriel Moreno has experience as a director of a FinTech company and was an editor of the largest Latin magazine in the UK. He studied Latin American economics at the University of Oxford and is passionate about all things sustainable.
Together they have created Fiquetex, an eco-friendly textile solution which does not use any plastic or animals in its production process.

Fique Fabric
Our Fique Fabric is an aesthetically pleasing textile that is also long-lasting and economical. It can be adapted for numerous purposes, such as packaging material, eco-friendly carrier bags or even outdoor agricultural use.
Fique Vegan Leather
Fique Vegan Leather is an adaptable and durable alternative to bovine and synthetic leathers. Its design and appearance are equal to animal leather, without the negative environmental consequences.
